With the coronavirus, what do I do about the SAT or ACT and getting into college?

The bad news is that the SAT and ACT have been cancelled until June, and even those test dates are iffy. College visits are cancelled and AP testing is in serious doubt, making student decisions more difficult and the prospect of receiving college credit doubtful.

The good news is that everyone knows this. Colleges still want you at your best and want students who truly want to be there. In light of what’s happening, the date for seniors to decide and make their deposits is shifting for many colleges, and some schools have pushed back their admissions deadlines to allow for postponed standardized testing. If you are not an international student and have been admitted to college, you should not worry about your admissions being rescinded.

However, it could very well be the case that most juniors will get only one more shot at the SAT or ACT before applying in the fall. Taking a prep course just before the SAT is a good idea, but scheduling it months before is even better. You have more time to put into practice the strategies taught and more time to work on concepts that challenge you. With uncertainty as to how much time you’ll have to study in the near future, NOW might be the best time to sign up for an online test prep course. Astounding Score has several options for you and, given the current situation, will be adding more every week. Check them out now.
